چکیده

Multi-antenna GPS receiver configurations and methods are assessed to determine roll, pitch and azimuth of a survey launch operating at cruising speeds of 10 to 15 knots. Two receiver configurations are inter-compared, namely a 4antenna Ashtech 3DF system and a 3-GPSCardTM configuration. The survey launch antenna configurations and marine trials conducted to test these systems are described. The approach used to resolve the relative carrier phase ambiguities between the antennas is discussed and the use of antenna baseline constraints is analyzed. A least squares procedure which utilizes all the position information from the antennas for the estimation of the platform attitude parameters and their accuracy is presented. The attitude determination results of the two systems tested are inter-compared and show that the rms agreement between the two receiver configurations is better than 7 arc minutes for the pitch and yaw components and approximately 15 arc minutes for the roll component.

Quality Control Issues Relating to an Attitude Determination System using a Multi-Antenna GPS array

A multi-antenna GPS array has been used by many researchers and in practise and to determine the attitude parameters of a mobile platform. At the heart of high accuracy real-time GPS-based attitude determination is the quick and correct resolution of the carrier phase ambiguities. So far the majority of research has focused on improving the time-to-ambiguity resolution, and in improving the acc...

A low-cost attitude heading reference system by combination of GPS and magnetometers and MEMS inertial sensors for mobile applications

This paper describes a prototype system for attitude and heading determination. A L1-only GPS receiver is integrated with microelectromechanical gyroscopes, accelerometers and magnetometers. In contrast to a multi-antenna/multi-receiver GPS attitude determination system, this system uses a single antenna/single receiver configuration to derive standalone velocity and acceleration solutions from...

A GPS Signal Transmission Model for Improved Single Antenna Attitude Determination

The subsequent sections present a new single antenna attitude system based on signal strength. By incorporating a precisely measured spherical antenna gain pattern and a GPS transmission model, attitude can be estimated using a least square search. Finally, the improved attitude system is analysed by comparing to previous results. This paper concludes that further analysis is required for model...
